Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Daily Checkin ("we," "our," or "us") is a wellness check-in app. This policy explains what information we collect through the Daily Checkin iOS app and this website, why we collect it, and how it's used.
Information we collect
When you use Daily Checkin, we collect:
- Account information — a unique identifier from Sign in with Apple, and your email address if you choose to share it.
- Phone number — to send you SMS text reminders and place check-in calls.
- Check-in activity — your daily mood selections, reminder schedule, and whether/when you responded to a check-in.
- Emergency contact information — the email address(es) you designate to be notified if you don't respond to your reminders.
- Consent records — the exact consent text shown to you, and the date, time, and IP address of your submission, whenever you opt in or opt out of SMS messages.
We do not access your device's Contacts, location, camera, or microphone. Mood history is stored on your device; account and check-in state needed to run the reminder schedule is stored on our servers.
How we use this information
We use this information solely to operate the check-in service: sending you reminders, detecting your responses, and notifying your emergency contact if reminders go unanswered. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.
Who we share it with
We rely on a small number of service providers to deliver Daily Checkin:
- Twilio — sends SMS reminders and places check-in calls on our behalf.
- Apple — provides Sign in with Apple and processes App Store subscription billing; we never see or store your payment details.
- Cloudflare — hosts our backend and database.
Each is bound by its own privacy and data-processing terms and only receives the minimum data needed to perform its function.
Data retention
We retain your account, reminder, and consent-history data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for compliance and dispute-resolution purposes. Consent records (opt-in/opt-out events) are kept indefinitely as required by SMS carrier regulations. After you delete your account, a small amount of anonymized usage data (such as reminder response timing and subscription history, with no name, email, or phone number attached) may be retained to produce aggregate statistics.
Your choices
You can update or remove your phone number, reminders, and emergency contact at any time in the app's Settings. You can stop SMS messages instantly by replying STOP to any text, or using our opt-out form. You can delete your account directly in the app's Settings at any time — this immediately removes your reminders, mood history, and emergency contact settings (see "Data retention" above for what's retained afterward).
Children's privacy
Daily Checkin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
